Rapha Seeing Sound with adventure-racer Lachlan Morton

Rapha and Cannondale release clothing and bikes featuring graphics inspired by Lachlan Morton's favourite playlists

Words: Joseph Delves

Known for his long-distance adventures, Lachlan Morton often supplements his own internal monologues with the kind of carefully curated playlists you’d expect of someone in possession of such a luxurious moustache.

Now he’s collaborated with his clothing sponsor Rapha on a capsule collection that takes inspiration from the tunes that keep him motivated. Featuring visual representations of some of his favourite tracks, the result is kit covered in swarms of dots that appear a bit like waves and a bit like ink stains.

Although we’d be hard pushed to say which is which, a quick scan of Morton’s Spotify suggests these visualisations could represent any number of artists, from King Krule to Pusha T via Daniel Johnston.

All very nice looking and no doubt perfectly formed to hide the mysterious marks and stains you accumulate when riding days between laundry breaks, this Seeing Sound design has been applied to many of the items he calls upon while accomplishing his bikepacking expeditions.

Including Rapha’s versatile and functional Pro Team training jerseys, cargo bib shorts, and technical T-shirts, these are available in both men’s and women’s versions and can be accessorised with matching socks, caps and bidons.

Complementing the range, bikemaker Cannondale has also produced a run of 100 SuperSix EVO SE framesets with the same surface design for those particularly taken with either Lachlan or the Seeing Sound design.

A souped-up version of the firm’s classic SuperSix, this 40c tyre wearing racer is just the sort of bike for achieving quick times across long and varied routes. You can find out more about it vai our feature on its launch here

With the Seeing Sound collection released today, RCC members get 24-hours exclusive access from 27th January with general release being a day later on the 28th. You can shop the range here
