Vincenzo shows us how many people have downloaded his App

Not wishing to pick on His Nibs, as this is the second Wibble in recent weeks on Astana’s Italian stallion, but when we get a press release giving details of The Vincenzo Nibali APP for iPhone, ‘Nibali Official’, it’s too good an opportunity to miss.

“The winner of the last Giro d’Italia is thus a leader in communication too, with an attack worthy of those we are accustomed to see during the toughest climbs on the mountain roads,” the missive says. “From now on, for the fans there will be no more secret, because on the new application you can really find any kind of information: everything from his personal life to his team, from training info to the most important races.”

Packed with interactive features, photos and post-race comments from the Shark himself, it’s the selfie section, allowing fans to “take a photo of you showing your support to Nibali and share it with other fans” that really caught our eye.

Our Ian couldn’t wait.

Five minutes more of playing around with the new gizmo and his mood had altered…

Silly old fool obviously hasn’t spotted “the infinite possibilities guaranteed by digital media”. It’s a couple of quid, if you’re interested.

5 – The minutes of Liege-Bastogne-Liege worth watching.

David Millar has an Alan Partridge moment watching Liege on TV. “I felt a bit like this watching the end of LBL”:

“Dan! Dan! DAAAAAN!!!”

We supported the Rutland Melton CiCLE Classic as usual, and this year was the 10th. Another fine edition it was too, won by Rapha-Condor-JLT’s Tom Moses. But the best film of the race remains this 2011 short by Andy Waterman, formerly of this parish.

You will notice some well-placed Rouleur banners in the previous footage, unlike this clip from the Tour of the Dengie Marshes. Phil Hersey of the Eagle RC takes (painful) exception to our positioning…

Chris Froome rocks’n’rolls along the shores of Lake Geneva to win the 2013 Tour de Romandie. Can he do it again?
