Voxwomen, the women’s international cycling media hub, will be revealing its first ever road Rider of the Year award in association with the prestigious Rouleur Classic taking place in Bloomsbury Square, London this November.
The ‘Voxy’ award will be selected by a panel of women’s cycling experts, and presented to the road cyclist that has achieved stand-out performances throughout the year.
And what better place to award the first ever Voxy than the Rouleur Classic? The world’s finest road cycling exhibition, which runs from Thursday November 3rd to Saturday November 5th in London, is the perfect platform to celebrate and showcase 2016’s greatest female cyclists.
Anthony McCrossan, Voxwomen Founder, said: “Since we founded Voxwomen the team have talked often about introducing our own awards to recognise the achievement of the women riders we spend all year filming, interviewing and spending time with. We are very excited to announce the inaugural Voxwomen Rider of the Year award in association with the Rouleur Classic Show.
“The Rouleur Classic is a stunning event and as a team, we felt it was the perfect place to recognise the achievements of women riders. Our first Voxy will be judged by a panel of influential and supportive cycling broadcasters, journalists, event promoters and industry experts. We can’t wait to find out which rider they choose.”
After an exciting year of racing, with highlights including the Olympics, World Championships and the inaugural Women’s UCI WorldTour, it’s going to be a tough ask to pick just one rider to take the celebrated Voxy accolade.
Bruce Sandell, Managing Director of Gruppo Media, added: “I am delighted to team up with Voxwomen for this award and am excited to be celebrating the very best in women’s racing at our show. We created the Rouleur Classic to champion the very best in road cycling – so it is only fitting that we launch this fantastic award there.”
The panel and the shortlist of riders will be announced shortly.
