Lumps, bumps and baroudeurs

Stage 7 Tournus – Station des Rousses
A day of lumpy roads and barely a mile of flat tarmac that should suit the 1s bidding for their day of glory, or perhaps a baroudeur, that rare breed that attack for the sake of it and to hell with the consequences.

Rarely does the tactic pay off results-wise, but success from an epic break guarantees cult status. The 1992 Tour of Flanders saw just such a ride from baroudeur extraordinaire Jacky Durand.
