Maserati will be the title sponsor of the inaugural ‘1 Classic – The Road Cycling Emporium’ – in a two-year agreement that spans 2015 and 2016.
The 100-year-old Italian manufacturer, one of the most historic marques in motoring, will partner 1 owners Gruppo Media and co-hosts Telegraph Events at the premium bicycle show, which will be held at London’s Vinopolis from November 19, 2015 to November 21, 2015.
Maserati’s association with 1’s celebration of the very best in road cycling represents another strand to the Maserati Cycling initiative, which begins in earnest with its sponsorship of the Tour de Yorkshire Ride on Sunday May 3, 2015.
The marque has also appointed David Millar in an ambassadorial role, and is committed to supporting the continued growth of road cycling in the UK, having witnessed the boom in the sport’s popularity among its customers and employees.
Peter Denton, Region Manager for Maserati North Europe said: “Once we decided upon Maserati Cycling, it was only natural that we talk to 1. The title perfectly embodies everything we love about the sport. The launch of the 1 Classic has provided an ideal platform for us to work together to deliver something truly exceptional to a discerning audience of road cyclists.”
The 1 Classic will be an exclusive, intimately-curated visitor experience, featuring the sport’s pre-eminent brands, personalities and athletes, together with unique previews of the latest products, equipment and technologies, all under one roof and is considered by both parties to be a perfect fit for Maserati’s brand values.
Visitors will be able to evaluate their next important bike purchase at the show, which will be organised in partnership with Telegraph Events, the expert team behind The London Bike Show and Salon QP, a prestigious watch exhibition held at the Saatchi Gallery.
Bruce Sandell, MD, Gruppo Media is delighted that Maserati has aligned itself with the 1 Classic. The marque’s reputation for high-performance engineering would set the tone perfectly for the show, he said.
“There’s a great affinity between cycling and the Maserati brand, with the constant pursuit of innovation and a rich, continental heritage going back many years. Along with our partners Telegraph Events, we are looking forward to working closely with Maserati and David Millar over the next few months.”
Tickets to the event will be on sale in May priced from £50.00. A limited number of alternative sponsorship opportunities are available at the event and more information is available at Alternatively, please call 0207 931 3959 to explore how to get involved.
