Issue 101 of Rouleur magazine broke all sorts of records while covering stories that had not previously been given a spotlight. These stories clearly needed to be told, and the number of copies the issue sold proved the need to give a bigger platform to the many great female voices in our sport.

Naturally, issue 101 of Rouleur magazine only scratched the surface, but looking back two years later - at our own staff members, our own magazine and the wider cycling landscape, there has been significant progress.

If you missed it the first time around, find out what’s inside issue 101 of Rouleur magazine below:

Leading broadcaster and journalist Orla Chennaoui takes the reins as guest editor for a landmark edition that celebrates what it is to be a woman in modern cycling. Read Orla's Editor's letter here and the story behind the cover here.

Issue 101 is led by Orla’s compelling, wide-ranging chat with doyennes Lizzie Deignan, Fran Millar and Monica Santini. They discuss their experiences good and bad in the industry, juggling careers with motherhood, advice for younger readers and ideas for change.

Elsewhere, we meet inspiring figures from across cyclesport. Our remarkable cover star Shanaze Reade looks back on her rise to the top of the BMX world and her battle with the bottle. You’ll also find a candid photo story which follows the 2020 season with livewire Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig.

Elsewhere, there’s Luisa Grappone, the ex-space cadet helping Hunt Wheels to new heights, and Vittoria Bussi, the Oxford doctorate holder who is the Hour Record holder.

Orla reveals the unspoken problem of top cyclists with crippling labial issues, while Owen Rogers explores the growing number of female team managers in the sport, with world champion Anna van der Breggen about to join those ranks. Away from the races, we discover how cycling is being used as a vehicle for joyful feminist liberation for young women in Karachi.

We go eRacing with Rebecca Charlton and Ashleigh Moolman Pasio to discover there’s a decent wage to be made on a turbo trainer.

Plus, there are columns from the excellent Ned Boulting and the great Marianne Vos in this inspiring, funny, intriguing, taboo-busting and utterly original edition.
