Back in the spring, we featured Sportful’s BodyFit Classic jersey, the fleece-lined number designed for the riders lining up to take on the gnarled cobbles in forbidding weather.
This time round, a little closer to summer, we’ve squeezed into Sportful’s BodyFit Pro Evo Jersey, which they say is best suited to the warmer weather.

At this year’s Giro, the BodyFit Pro Evo jersey has been first choice for Sportful sponsored teams, Bahrain-Merida and BORA-Hansgrohe. It’s the jersey Sam Bennett won two stages in and the jersey Matej Mohoric wore when he won in Gualdo Tadino on stage 10.
It’s light at 170g and has full coverage, unlike the translucent fabrics that look like something from the costume department of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. A Directeur Sportif will spend months fine-tuning riders to suit the parcours, so why not give them the ability to pick the kit that’s appropriate for the climate… and pre-watershed viewing.
It’s largely made from a stretch aero fabric, so it fits tight to the body, hence the BodyFit coinage. Sportful has used different fabrics on the side panels for greater breathability and the waistband and sleeve cuffs are held in place with silicone. The stay-put cuffs aren’t advertised to aid the cultivation of perfect pro tan lines, but they do.
There’s another jersey in the Sportful BodyFit range for when the mercury rises as sharply as the road does. We’ll be back with that. Still needs to warm up a smidge.
